Ever since first trying Ivan and Priscilla's coffee's in 2022, we loved what they produced. Their elusive Washed Geisha is a rare lot that speaks for itself in quality and elegance - something super special, and worth appreciating!
Grown in Bambito, nearby Volcan in Panama (just off the road leading to Cerro Punta), the land where their geisha grows goes up the mountain to around 1800m above sea level. There's a beautiful forest that sits around the top part of their Geisha, which is very peaceful to walk through. Their Geisha grows well here, and in this terroir they're already producing great results. They process their Geisha as a classic washed process, with drying in a newly build dark room, which has elevated their coffees dramatically, giving even cleaner finishes, and more expressive notes.
We love their coffees in the cup - so expressive, clean, and sweet. In their Geisha you can expect clean florals like jasmine and orange blossom, stonefruit notes like white peach or apricot, and citrus like orange, lemon, or bergamott. This was the exact lot that was used to win the Swiss Barista Championship in November, and we're excited to share this with you now!
